Why go
More than 400,000 people are buried in the rolling hills of the national military cemetery, across the Potomac in Virginia. Tips
- It's a working cemetery with funerals every day: keep voices low and give way to funeral processions.
- The hills are steep, so wear comfortable shoes or take the tram.
