Why Go

Gitano and other poor families dug homes into the hill from the 16th century on, and the caves became famous for the zambra, a local style of flamenco. Shows are held in caves along the main road every night.

By day, the Sacromonte Caves Museum shows how people lived in them, and the abbey at the top looks down over the valley.
