Why Go
The mountain rises about 825 feet above the plain. On its north face, a carving of Confederate leaders Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, finished in 1972, remains controversial. Around it are trails, lakes, a historic village of relocated buildings and family attractions.
Tips
- Walk up the steep 1-mile trail and ride the Summit Skyride down, for views of the Atlanta skyline.
