Why Go

Until 1918, Zemun was the last town of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, facing Ottoman and then Serbian Belgrade across the river. Its cobbled lanes climb to the Gardoš Tower of 1896, with a view of the Danube, and the riverside promenade is lined with restaurants.
