The largest Gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul, blackened by a great fire, hung with Ottoman carpets.
Built from the 14th to the 15th century, the church got its name after the fire of 1689 scorched its walls. Inside hangs a rare collection of Anatolian carpets given by Saxon merchants, and organ concerts are held on its 4,000-pipe organ in summer.
