Getting There
7 kilometers by bike along the canal from the Kruispoort gate, or by boat from the Noorweegse Kaai in summer.

Why Go

Damme was Bruges's outer harbor on the Zwin inlet until it silted up. Its town hall from the 15th century and the Church of Our Lady with its ruined nave are left from the boom years.

The ride there follows the straight Damse Vaart canal between rows of poplars, and a paddle steamer runs from Bruges in summer.
