Why Go

On June 18, 1815, Wellington's allied army and Blücher's Prussians ended Napoleon's rule in a single day of battle. The Memorial 1815 museum, built under the fields, tells the story, and 226 steps climb the Lion's Mound, raised in 1826, for a view over the battlefield. The farm of Hougoumont, fought over all day, has been restored.
