Why Go

Suceava was Moldavia's capital, and Stephen the Great strengthened its fortress so well that Mehmed II, conqueror of Constantinople, failed to take it. Walk the walls and towers, then visit the Bucovina Village Museum beside it, an open-air collection of old wooden houses and churches.
