Why Go
The museum's 61,000 works span 6,000 years, with superb Asian, medieval and Egyptian collections. Outside the 1916 marble building stands a cast of Rodin's 'Thinker', damaged by a bomb in 1970 and left unrepaired. A glass-roofed atrium joins the old and new wings.
