Why Go

Built on a Viking site in the 13th century, the castle was the center of British government for seven centuries and was handed over to Michael Collins in 1922. Tours show the state apartments and the medieval undercroft.

In its gardens, the Chester Beatty Library holds a superb free collection of manuscripts and art from Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
