Getting There
About 10 minutes by car west of the Causeway, between Portrush and Bushmills.

Why Go

Dunluce was the seat of the MacQuillans and then the MacDonnells, Earls of Antrim, until they abandoned it in the 1690s. Legend says part of the kitchens fell into the sea one stormy night. The walls stand over sheer drops on three sides, and a cave runs under the rock to the sea.

Tips

  • The view from the road just east of the castle is best at sunset.
