A Gothic cathedral on San Francisco's Nob Hill with gilded doors cast from Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise and two labyrinths, one inside and one out, to walk in quiet.
Grace Cathedral crowns Nob Hill, a Gothic cathedral in concrete finished in 1964. Its front doors are cast from Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise in Florence, its windows mix medieval styles with portraits of modern figures like Albert Einstein, and its AIDS Interfaith Chapel holds an altarpiece by Keith Haring.
It's also known for its two labyrinths, one woven into a carpet-like stone floor inside and one in terrazzo outside, which visitors walk slowly as a moving meditation.
