Havasu Falls

Blue-green waterfalls on the Havasupai reservation, reached by a 10-mile hike. Stunning, and very hard to get a permit for.

Getting There
From Hualapai Hilltop, about four hours from the South Rim.

Why Go

The Havasupai people have lived here for centuries, and Supai is the only US town where mail still goes out by mule. It isn't part of the national park. All visits require a tribal reservation for a campground or lodge stay, and these sell out in minutes.

Tips

  • Don't try to go without a reservation. You'll be turned back, and day hikes aren't allowed.
