Why Go
Raja Man Singh began it in 1592, and the rulers of Amber lived here until Jaipur was founded. Its courtyards rise up the hill to the Sheesh Mahal, where a single flame lights up thousands of mirrors.
It's part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan World Heritage Site. Walk up the old ramp or take a jeep from the bottom.
Tips
- We'd skip the elephant ride, which animal welfare groups have long criticized.
