Why Go

On September 29 and 30, 1941, the occupiers marched Kyiv's Jews to the ravine and shot 33,771 of them. Tens of thousands more, Roma, prisoners and others, were killed here over the next two years. Memorials stand across the park, among them a bronze menorah, a wooden synagogue that opens like a book, and a mirror field that rings with the sound of the victims' names.
