Getting There
About 10 minutes by car from the Moskenes ferry; 1½ hours west of Leknes.

Why Go

About 300 people live in Reine, on Moskenesøya near the western end of the islands. Above it, a stone staircase built by Nepalese Sherpas climbs Reinebringen to a ridge 448 meters up, with the classic view over the village, the fjords and the peaks.

In summer small boats cross the fjord to trailheads and white beaches that can't be reached by road.

Tips

  • The Reinebringen steps are steep and slippery when wet; allow 2 to 3 hours up and down.
