Trains from Paddington, changing at Slough, or direct from Waterloo, about 35 to 55 minutes.

Why Go

William the Conqueror chose the site, and monarchs have lived here ever since. The State Apartments are hung with royal paintings, and St George's Chapel, where Queen Elizabeth II is buried, has hosted royal weddings.

The Changing of the Guard takes place on set mornings, and the town of Windsor and Eton College are at its gates.
