Why Go
Built in 1923 as an ad for a housing development called 'Hollywoodland', the sign lost its last four letters in 1949 and became the symbol of the film industry. You can't touch it, but trails like the Mount Hollywood and Brush Canyon trails get you close.
Tips
- Respect residents in the hillside streets; don't park illegally.
