Why Go

Bernadette, then 14, reported 18 apparitions in the Grotto of Massabielle, and a spring rose where she dug. Pilgrims touch the rock, light candles and drink or bathe in the water. Above the grotto stand the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and the Rosary Basilica, and an underground basilica holds 25,000 people.
