Why Go

Since 1889, the railway from Alpnachstad has climbed slopes of up to 48 percent to the top, at 2,128 meters. From the summit terraces you look over Lake Lucerne and a long line of Alpine peaks. Most visitors make a loop: a boat to Alpnachstad, the cogwheel railway up, and the aerial cableway and gondola down to Kriens.
