Why Go

The Spanish began cutting the casemates in the 17th century, and later rulers extended them to 23 kilometers. Most were destroyed after the fortress was dismantled in 1867, but 17 kilometers survive, and the Bock's galleries look out over the Alzette valley.

In both world wars the tunnels sheltered the townspeople from bombing.
