Getting There
About an hour by train from Málaga to El Chorro, then a shuttle bus to the start.

Why Go

Built in the early 1900s for workers at a hydroelectric plant, the path fell apart and was closed, until a new boardwalk was fixed above the old one and it reopened in 2015. The one-way route runs about 4.8 miles, almost 1.9 miles of it on walkways high above the river, through the Gaitanes gorge to the hamlet of El Chorro.

Tips

  • Not for anyone afraid of heights; helmets are given out at the start.
