Why Go

Midtown's central park has 126 acres of old forest, trails, a golf course, the Memphis Zoo and the Levitt Shell, a bandshell that hosts dozens of free concerts every spring and fall. Residents famously fought off a highway through it in a case that reached the Supreme Court in 1971.
