Why Go

Prince Albert I, a pioneering oceanographer, opened the museum in 1910, its walls rising sheer from the sea. Jacques Cousteau directed it for three decades. Below the halls of whale skeletons and ship models, the aquarium holds thousands of fish, a shark lagoon and Mediterranean and tropical reefs.
