Why Go

Running since 1971, the cabins rise from 2,356 meters to La Rambleta at 3,555 meters. From there, short trails lead to viewpoints over the crater of Pico Viejo and across to the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and Gran Canaria.

The final climb of about 160 meters to the crater rim follows the Telesforo Bravo path, open only with a permit booked ahead. Teide last erupted in 1909, and sulfur vents still steam at the top.

Tips

  • Take the first cabin of the day, before the queues and the afternoon clouds.
