Why Go

Ludwig I wanted Munich to be a new Athens, and the square's gateway and museums imitate ancient Greece. The Glyptothek shows Greek and Roman sculpture, and the Antikensammlungen opposite has vases and jewelry.

The Nazis held rallies here, a history told at the documentation center nearby.
