Why Go

Delos was the religious center of the Aegean for a thousand years and, under Rome, a great free port. Its ruins cover most of the small island: temples, the Terrace of the Lions, houses with mosaic floors, a theater and the market quarters, with a museum of finds. No one lives on Delos, and visitors can't stay overnight.

Tips

  • There's almost no shade: bring water and a hat.
