Why Go

Corinth grew rich on its two harbors at the isthmus. The site holds a 6th-century BC Temple of Apollo with seven columns still standing, the Roman forum, the Peirene fountain and the platform where St. Paul is said to have stood trial. Above it, the walls of Acrocorinth climb a rock 575 meters high, with views over both gulfs.

Tips

  • Stop at the Corinth Canal on the way, where the old road crosses it.
