Why Go
The oldest continuously active Catholic cathedral in the United States, it was largely rebuilt in the 1850s. In front stands an equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson, and the Cabildo and Presbytère, flanking it, are state museums. The Louisiana Purchase was signed in the Cabildo in 1803.
