Why go
New York's seaside playground at the southern tip of Brooklyn: a wide sandy beach, a wooden boardwalk, the 1927 Cyclone roller coaster, the Wonder Wheel and the original Nathan's Famous hot dogs. It's old-fashioned, a bit scruffy and great fun in summer.
Tips
- The New York Aquarium is on the boardwalk too.
- Brighton Beach, the Russian-speaking neighborhood one stop away, is good for lunch.
