Why Go

The British towed giant concrete blocks across the Channel to make Port Winston, an artificial harbor that landed 2.5 million men and 500,000 vehicles in the months after D-Day. Its remains curve across the bay; a museum on the seafront explains it, and a 360-degree cinema on the cliff shows film of the battle.
