Getting There
About 25 minutes by high-speed train from Avignon to Aix TGV station, outside the city, or 1 hour by car.

Why Go

The Cours Mirabeau, shaded by plane trees and lined with cafés and mansions, runs through the heart of the old town, which has dozens of fountains. Cézanne's studio is kept as he left it, and the mountain he painted again and again, Sainte-Victoire, rises east of the city.
