Why Go

The road circles the peninsula through Killorglin, Cahersiveen, Waterville, Derrynane and Kenmare. Stop for the stone forts of Cahergal and Staigue, the sandy bays of Derrynane, and the detour of the Skellig Ring for views out to the island monastery.

Tips

  • Drive it counterclockwise, like the coaches, and leave early to stop where you like.
