Why Go

Built in the early 3rd century, the baths had hot and cold pools, a gym, gardens and libraries, and could take about 1,600 bathers at a time. Patches of the mosaic floors survive among the high walls.

On summer evenings, Rome's opera company performs on a stage set among the ruins.
