Why Go

The cathedral was built in only 38 years, from 1220 to 1258, which gives it a rare unity of style, and its spire, finished by 1330, rises 123 meters. In the chapter house lies one of four surviving copies of the 1215 Magna Carta, and in the nave ticks one of the oldest working clocks in the world, from about 1386. Tower tours climb up into the roof to the base of the spire.
