Why Go

Since 1990, blocks of ice have been cut from the river each spring, stored, and built into a new hotel from December, with a chapel, an ice bar and suites sculpted by invited artists. It melts back into the river in spring; a smaller part, kept frozen all year, lets you see the ice art in summer too.
