Why Go

Volterra was one of the great Etruscan cities, and its Arch Gate still bears three carved heads from those times. The Guarnacci Museum holds hundreds of Etruscan urns, and the medieval square is one of the finest in Tuscany. The ruins of a Roman theater lie just below the walls.
