Horsetail Fall Firefall
For a couple of weeks each February, sunset can light up a thin waterfall on El Capitan so that it glows like lava.
- Open
- Mid to late February
- Price
- Park entrance fee
- Time Needed
- An evening
- Address
- Northside Drive, Yosemite National Park, CA 95389Google MapsApple Maps

- Walk from Yosemite Falls parking, or follow current park instructions.
Why Go
It needs a clear sky and snowmelt, so nothing is guaranteed. Rules on parking and access change from year to year, so check the park's site. It's not to be confused with the old Firefall, in which burning embers were pushed off Glacier Point until 1968.
