Why Go

Henry the Navigator ordered the fortress built in the 15th century, and his small church still stands inside. On the ground lies a huge circle of stones, thought to be a wind rose or sundial, though no one is sure. A path loops around the flat headland past sea caves and fishermen perched on the cliffs.
