Why Go

The Romans called it the Sacred Promontory, and for centuries it was thought to be the end of the world. Cliffs drop about 75 meters to the ocean, and the lighthouse, on the site of an old monastery, watches over one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.

Tips

  • It's very windy; bring a jacket for the sunset.
