Why Go

Built between 1830 and 1930, the museums hold collections from the ancient world to the 19th century. The Neues Museum has the painted bust of Queen Nefertiti, the Altes Museum Greek and Roman art, and the Alte Nationalgalerie German Romantic painting.

The Pergamon Museum, with the Pergamon Altar and the Ishtar Gate of Babylon, is closed for a long renovation, with part of it due to reopen in 2027.
