Why Go

Nizamuddin Auliya died in 1325, and people of many faiths have come to his tomb ever since. The poet Amir Khusrau is buried beside him.

The qawwali around sunset, usually on Thursdays and Fridays, is the time to come. The lanes outside are full of kebabs, rose petals and sellers of prayer caps.

Tips

  • Cover your head and shoulders. Women can't enter the inner tomb chamber.
