Getting There
A 10-minute walk from the bottom of the Royal Mile.

Why Go

The summit, 251 meters high, rises from the wild hills of Holyrood Park, a royal park of crags, lochs and ruins right beside the city center. Paths start by the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The walk along the foot of the Salisbury Crags is an easier option with nearly as good a view.

Tips

  • The top is windy and slippery in the wet. Wear proper shoes.
