Getting There
Sightseeing boats and the Hellesylt ferry leave from the harbor in the village; kayaks rent from the shore.

Why Go

The fjord runs 9.3 miles from Hellesylt to Geiranger, with walls rising straight from the water to snowy peaks. Boats pass the Seven Sisters, the Suitor across the fjord, and mountain farms like Skageflå and Knivsflå, abandoned in the early 20th century, where, the story goes, children were tied with ropes so they wouldn't fall.
