Why Go

On 16 April 1746, the army of Bonnie Prince Charlie was crushed by government troops in less than an hour, ending the last Jacobite rising and, in the years that followed, the old clan way of life. Flags mark the battle lines on the moor, and stones carved with clan names stand over the mass graves. The visitor centre's immersive film puts you in the middle of the fighting.
