Getting There
Walks start from Genêts or from the Mont itself; book with a licensed guide.

Why Go

The bay has some of the largest tides in Europe, with up to 15 meters between high and low water. Guides lead walkers across the sands, explaining the quicksand and the tide, which can come in faster than a person can walk.

Tips

  • Never cross alone; bring shorts and a towel, as you may wade through channels.
