Why Go

Begun under Charles IV in 1357, the bridge was the only crossing of the river for centuries. Its statues, now mostly copies, were added from the late 17th century; touching the plaque of St. John of Nepomuk is said to bring you back to Prague.

Its Gothic towers can be climbed at both ends.

  • Come at sunrise, when it's almost empty.
