Why Go

Founded in the 9th century, the castle has been the seat of Bohemian kings, Holy Roman emperors and Czech presidents. Its heart is St. Vitus Cathedral, with Mucha's stained glass and the silver tomb of St. John of Nepomuk.

A circuit ticket covers the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica and the tiny houses of Golden Lane. The guard changes at the gate every hour, with a ceremony at noon.
