Why Go

Boats leave year-round to look for minke and humpback whales and dolphins in the bay, and from May to August for the puffin islands nearby. Seeing whales isn't guaranteed; most tours offer a second trip free if you don't.

Along the quays and out in Grandi, the Maritime Museum moors a coast guard ship, and exhibitions cover whales, sagas and the northern lights.
