Why Go

Bishop Albert, who founded Riga, laid its foundation stone in 1211, and the church grew from Romanesque to Gothic and baroque. Its organ, built by Walcker in 1884 with more than 6,700 pipes, was then the largest in the world, and concerts are held here through the year.

The cloister and its garden hold old cannons, carved stones and the original weathercock from the tower.
